Dr Vivek Tandon, co-founder of Aloe Private Equity, is an experienced international executive and proven entrepreneur with an in-depth background in building technology start-up companies.
Prior to Aloe, Vivek co-founded a number of high technology companies including VICOM Group International. He has held several senior executive management positions including Viventures (a USD$700m Venture Capital Fund as UK Managing Director), CIENA, Kymata, British Telecommunications PLC and Motorola.
Vivek is vice-chairman of Allied Technology Group, a 140 person environmental engineering company, focussed on waste water treatment, air pollution treatment for power plants and coal gasification with revenues of US$120m in 2006. He also sits on the boards of Maxsys, Recupyl and Greenko Group.
He has a BSc in Physics from Imperial College and a PhD from University of London (UCL). He holds several patents and has published many papers.
Jean-Pascal Tranié, co-founder of Aloe Private Equity, is an experienced Venture Capitalist who has held senior executive positions in Veolia Energy (including CEO of the German division).
Head of Vivendi's Media and Multimedia divisions for three years when he was CEO of Numericable, a leading MSO in France. Former Board member of Havas (Books, Game, Digital contents), UGC (European leading theatre group), and Babelsberg Studios.He has also been a Member of the executive committee of Cegetel, and was responsible for the launch of Vivendi's intranet.
Jean-Pascal was the founding General Managing Partner of Viventures Partners, which raised over $700M. Viventures actively supported the success of many high-growth companies. Jean-Pascal co-founded and is currently General Partner of Aloe Environment Fund and a Board Member of Assystem-Brime (a €400+ million turnover engineering company) and Longmen Group.
Denis Terrien is currently based out of Aloe Private Equity's Paris office, focussed on both investments and portfolio operational growth. He has extensive international operational experience both as an entrepreneur and as a CEO of large companies.
He began his career as a consultant with McKinsey & Co. in London. He then worked in retailing across Europe, first as a director of operation, managing retail networks, and then as VP marketing, running purchasing and pan European marketing. In 1999 he founded and launched Amazon.fr, a leading internet retail site. In 2001, he became President of Sanford Europe, where he managed the build up of a $500M group through the merger and aquisition of a number of companies which produced and distributed Parker, Waterman, Rotring, Paper Mate and Dymo products worldwide.
Denis Terrien is also engaged in a not profit organisation as President of a Swiss Foundation, which focuses on micro-help in Africa and Asia and training programs for young people.
Mark Baij is based in the London office and is responsible for making investments in Europe focussing primarily on the UK. Mark, originally from the Netherlands, received a BSc in Environmental Management in 1996 and completed an MBA from Rotterdam School of Management in 2004.
Mark has in the past worked in the financial services industry as a project manager and as an independent environmental consultant to public and private sector organisations. He also developed an innovative market analysis software tool for the waste recycling industry.
Mark joined Aloe as an Analyst and was soon promoted to Investment Manager. He currently sits on the Board of two Aloe Environment Fund I portfolio companies and is responsible for completing new investments from Aloe Environment Fund II and portfolio company development.
Mike Min Kiang returned to Asia after spending 20 years in the US where he received Master's degree from Stony Brook University. Prior to joining the investment community five years ago, Mike had held senior management positions in two public multinational companies and founded three successful Silicon Valley ventures.
In addition to his background in Mining, Metallurgy and Materials Science, Mike brings cross-culture management, M&A, corporate development and restructuring experiences to assist Aloe portfolio.
Mr. Kiang is now dedicated to managing Aloe investments in Asia.
Ludovic Edward Both is based in the Paris office and is Aloe Private Equity's Chief Financial Officer.
Prior to Joining Aloe Private Equity, Ludovic has held a wide variety of corporate finance and accounting management roles in Europe and Asia for nine years including three years with Viventures Partners (France and Singapore), two years with Siemens (France) and four years with Alcatel (France and Vietnam).
During his tenure with Viventures Partners Ludovic was the financial controller of the Asian subsidiary and supported the CFO in functions related to the fund management, investment process and financial reporting. He has also been involved in the review and evaluation of incoming business proposals and participated in several due diligences of early-stage ventures. Nine year's working experience with leading multinational organisations has helped him built strong skills in fund management, financial analysis, accounting, financial reporting and controls.
Yassin Khodadeen is currently based in Mumbai.. He holds a degree in Finance with Law from the University of Mauritius. Prior to joining Aloe Private Equity, Yassin worked for Multiconsult Ltd and Fideco Global Services Ltd, building a strong background in tax-efficient structuring of investments into Asia, AML/CDD checks as well as company law of various jurisdictions. Yassin is mainly responsible for screening potential investments and monitoring the performance of investees.
Mathieu Goudot is based in the Paris office and is responsible for conducting due diligence, analytical analysis and market research on investment opportunities. Mathieu is a graduate from Insitute d'Etudes Politiques de Paris with a specialisation in finance. He is also a graduate of the Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan with a major in mechanics and technology. Mathieu previously held a variety of internships at Goldman Sachs and Paris Orleans (the Private Equity investments holding of Rothschild Bank) where he has been involved in the review and evaluation of incoming business proposals.
